Noe only ever uses one word, and that word is “no”. It is a word she loves. It is a word that if you say it enough will drive everyone else CRAZY!

 

Brad is the most spoiled boy in the world. His parents give him everything he wants and MORE.

Harry hates homework. He will do everything he can to avoid doing it. Everything!

Clarissa looks adorable, sounds adorable and wears adorable dresses. But really she is anything but…

Downstairs in one of the grown-up’s wards is the oldest patient in the hospital – ninety-nine year old Nelly.

 

This is Matron. Despite running the children’s ward, she doesn’t like children at all.

 

Mr Cod is the old chemist. He has a hearing aid and thick glasses. Mr Cod runs the pharmacy in the hospital.

 

Porter is a lonely figure whose real name is a mystery. His job is to move people and things around the hospital, which he never seems to leave.

 

This is Tom. He is twelve and goes to a posh boarding school. He is about to discover the Midnight Gang and go on the adventure of a lifetime.

 

Sally is just ten and the youngest of the group. What do you think Sally’s dream might be? Can the Midnight Gang work together to make her dream come true?

 

Robin is also twelve. He doesn’t like to blow his own trumpet, but he can actually blow his own trumpet. He wants to become a famous composer one day.

 

George is eleven and is from the East End of London. George wants to fly like a superhero. The next time the Midnight Gang springs into action, he hopes it will be to make his dream come true.

 

Amber is twelve. By sheer force of will, Amber has appointed herself the unofficial leader of the Midnight Gang. She dreams of becoming a world-famous explorer.

 

Meet Jack. He’s not usually the bravest boy, but Jack and his grandpa are about to go on the adventure of a lifetime!

Meet Grandpa. During World War II he was an RAF pilot and flew Spitfires.

Meet wicked Miss Swine. She’s the Matron of the old folk’s home Grandpa is locked up in.

Dennis was different.

When he looked in the mirror he saw an ordinary twelve-year-old boy. But he felt different – his thoughts were full of colour and poetry, though his life could be very boring.

Dennis lived with his dad – who did have a name, but Dennis just called him Dad, so I will too – and his older brother John, who was fourteen. Dennis found it frustrating that his brother would always be two years older than him, and bigger, and stronger.
